The Transnational Round Table on Magnonics, High-Frequency Spintronics, and Ultrafast Magnetism (TRTM) is a conference that offers an inclusive platform for efficient exchange of ideas, knowledge, and expertise in an open-science format that
stimulates community building, inter-community dialogue, and a cooperative approach to research pathfinding;
challenges groupthink while encouraging responsible innovation;
lowers barriers for participation related to one's career stage and availability of funding;
removes barriers for participation related to irrelevant individual differences.
To achieve this aim, the TRTM features
a simple and transparent structure, fixed by the Statute throughout each annual lifecycle of the conference;
invitations to deliver a lecture-long talk by self-nomination (only);
two rounds of selection (including an early-bird one) by a rotating Scientific Advisory Board;
dedicated, duly regarded posters sessions;
mechanisms for enhanced feedback from the audience;
equality, diversity, and inclusion promoted by positive actions, policies, and safeguards.
Other initiatives are in development, and we are always open for suggestions!
The first TRTMs were a success, and we are glad to observe that some of the format's features are being adopted elsewhere. Yet, there is still much to improve, and there is always room for innovation. We invite you to join the effort and take part in defining the future of scientific face-to-face dissemination!
